Hole In The Rock ~ Lake Powell 2011

Okay, so this year we were only able to go to Lake Powell 3 times. Yes, I know poor us.
ANYWAY, so on our last trip at the end of July 2011, with the Hammonds, we took a trip up to the Escalante. It was a long ride up but Sooooooo worth it. Grayson and Nicole made it to the top of Hole in the Rock and then Jen and I made it to the top too. We all filled out these certificates, and Grayson was smart and stored his in the boat. I was dying by the time I got back down to the water that I jumped right in to cool off and forgot that I had put my certificate in my swimsuit for safe keeping. Of course it did not survive, but I really did it. I have witnesses. Grayson is a best. He also climbed up the sand dune right by Wahweep. It was too hot for me. Like I said he is a best. Brenna and Grayson both got up wakeboarding and it was great. Now boating is going to be so much more fun. Brenna and Grayson are also quite the cliff jumpers. I get nervous when it's only a six foot cliff. They were jumping from 15-30 feet. There was a boat that pulled up next to us and the guy went up to the highest area that you could jump from and did a back-flip. WHAT THE?!?! Psycho!!! This summer has been a huge turnaround for our kids. Spencer and I have decided to move to Lake Powell, once he has retired, and open up a little cafe for the summer and then travel the winter. Of course while he is working at the cafe, I will be playing in the sun. Hey, It's his dream to own one, not mine.

Red Truck ... White Cab

Grayson and I were just in the car when a red truck with a white cab was stopped in front of us.
Grayson: That doesn't look good.
Me: What?
G: A red truck with a white top. Those don't go together.
M: Sure they do. Red and white are the Utes colors. Look at that stop sign, it's red and white.
G: It doesn't match. It should be a red truck with a red top.
M: You are right. It does look a little weird. Good observation. But. it does make me wonder when you dress yourself sometimes ...
G: Mom. I have my own fashion sense.

:-D I had to chuckle.

My Surprise Christmas Present

Spencer surprised me with these beautiful pictures for Christmas. Annaka Crockett did a FABULOUS job. She has such a great eye. I never would have put these outfits together and I am sooooo happy that I didn’t have a say in it at all. Spencer first called Annaka and told her that he wanted to surprise me by having her take pictures of the kids that he could give me for Christmas. Then he called Jen Hammond and told her that when we went on our big shopping trip, she was in charge of directing me toward cute outfits for the kids for Christmas. A couple of my other friends were also in on the secret, however, they are very tight lipped because I was totally taken by surprise and blown away. I have this picture above as my desktop picture, and the picture is so clear that you can see an image of Annaka in Grayson’s eyes. All of the pictures turned out great. How did I get such cute kids?
